Providing opportunities and support for the third sector in Bury
What we have done so far
Our major challenge was to formalise and expand the representative role. The Forum has been recognised as the way the Children's Trust and Safeguarding Boards engage with children and young people's groups as a whole. We now have representation on the Trust and Safeguarding Board.
The Forum recognises that representation is about the third sector issues not individual organisations.
The Forum is also recognised as a 'reference' group should it
be needed.
On the Trust Board the deputy Chair is from the third sector.
A major piece of work will be involvement with the new Children and Young People's Plan for 2011.
