Bury is lucky to have over 160 voluntary, community and faith organisations and 4000 paid staff and volunteers supporting Children, young people and families right across the six towns.
This website is here to support these groups - whether you are a new neighbourhood group wanting to make a difference to the lives of children and young people, an established Bury organisation or a branch of a national charity.
B3SDA want this section of the website to provide a straight talking, central point of information where groups can:
• Find plain English fact sheets to help you find out about key issues that affect your organisation such as safeguarding and how to collaborate with other groups
• A central point to find out about training and networking events
• Updates about important changes in Bury that may have an impact on your work with children, young people and families.
The forum is a friendly informal meeting of children, young people and families groups that meets at the New Kershaw Centre, once a quarter.A wide variety of organisations come from small local community, faith and uniformed service groups to larger organisations in Bury and national charities. The sessions are split in to two parts.
Part 1 is aimed at front line workers and smaller groups.
It focuses on:
• Training
• Sharing good practice
• Networking
• News and updates
Part 2 is a strategic meeting, it covers:
• Children’s Trust Issues
• Third Sector Voice
• Collaboration
• Commissioning
• National Issues
• Funding
Attendees are welcome to come to both sections or one section depending on what will be relevant for them.
If you want to find out more about the forum or would be interested in getting involved please contact Beth on 0161 797 1968 or beth@b3sda.org.uk

We know that there is lots of fantastic work going on by voluntary and community sector groups and we think it’s really important that everyone in Bury knows and particularly key decision makers in Bury (funders and politicians for example) know what’s going on and why it’s valuable.
Over the next few months we are going to be developing new ways for groups to share their successes with B3SDA and the wider community. However, in the meantime if you have some big news - want to celebrate the achievements of your service users, staff and volunteers or if you see that there is the need for a new project drop us an e-mail at: beth@b3sda.org.uk
The more we at B3SDA know about the sector the more we can provide the most appropriate support and let the people of Bury know about your good work.
B3SDA is working with several other organisations to help develop children and young people’s groups by providing training and resources. Watch this space for our latest activities.
