Providing opportunitues and support for the third sector in Bury

Introduction

Hello and welcome to the Children and Young People and their Families web page.

Bury Third Sector Development Agency (B3SDA) are the support agency for the 3rd sector in Bury. We are here to help and our aims and objectives are on the main web page.

We have been funded for a specific project to help develop engagement  between 3rd sector organisations that provide a service to or work with children, young people and their families and the larger strategic agenda. Much of that engagement will be through the Children's Trust.

There has and continues to be a great deal of development with regard to issues around C&YP, in particularly

•           The Every Child Matters (ECM) initiative.

•           Statutory local Children's Plan.

•           Thinking Families initiative

•           The development of commissioning C&YP services

•           The new Safeguarding Unit for the 3rd sector

The 3rd sector plays an important role in all of this and is recognised as essential in delivering and improving services to C&YP.

For the sector to be engaged effectively there needs to be mechanisms to allow and support that to happen.
